Challenge
Last Call is a modern duty-free shop covering a retail area of 530 m² in the airside area of Hamad International Airport in Doha, meeting the highest standards of functionality, design and build quality. The challenge lay in implementing the project from the initial concept through to turnkey handover, whilst operating within the specific constraints of an international airport. Carrying out the work whilst the airport remained in operation required precise planning and close coordination with the airport operator, the authorities and all trades involved. All work had to be carried out in compliance with strict airport guidelines and safety regulations, without disrupting normal operations. At the same time, international supply chains, customs procedures and installation processes had to be coordinated in such a way that the ambitious schedule could be reliably met.

As the main contractor, we took charge of the entire project management process – from project management and the production of all fixtures right through to the turnkey handover of the shop. All furniture and fittings were manufactured to the highest quality standards and tailored precisely to the retail concept. In addition to production, our scope of work encompassed all construction works in accordance with the specific requirements of airport operations. Furthermore, we coordinated the international logistics, including customs clearance, and ensured that all components were available on site on schedule. The subsequent installation was carried out with precision and in accordance with standards, enabling the store to open as planned. The result is a modern retail space that combines functionality, high-quality materials and a clean design, and meets the high standards of international travel retail.
