Challenge & assignment

Since 1979, Globetrotter has been supplying high-quality outdoor and travel equipment products and advice, becoming one of the largest outdoor retailers in Europe, with branches all across Germany and a large e-commerce platform. After acquiring the outdoor outfitter Ergo, Globetrotter expanded its branch network further, opening a store in a prime city location in Wiesbaden, Germany. The 1,300 sqm new store is a combination of the Globetrotter City concept with elements of the Berlin flagship store.

Realisation

The custom-made furniture was designed and developed in close coordination with the client. Globetrotter brands were displayed throughout the two floors of the store. The store includes a “Club Hut”, an inviting place used for reading or simply to take a relaxing break. An in-house workshop for carrying out various repair works is also integrated into the store.

Highlights

The 8-metre-high birch trunks deployed in the shop, welcome customers and give them an outdoor, natural feeling, from the very first moment, despite the store’s urban location. The furniture, materials and look at the "Club Hut" was specifically designed to provide warmth and comfort to its visitors, an inviting corner to to relax, take a break and escape from everyday life.
