Origins
History
Origins
The origin of Bohnacker lies at the source of the 'Blau' river, the Blautopf spring near Blaubeuren in Baden-Württemberg, southern Germany. This was where the native Austrian Franz Heindler founded a planning office for shop interiors in 1982. His vision: cost-effective and flexible shop outfitting in the form of modular systems.
Railway carriages for storage space
Supported by just one employee for planning, he first furnished toy shops, as well as shoe and stationary shops. In 1984 Franz Heindler expanded and rented office and storage rooms in Blaubeuren. As the company expanded continuously, space soon became scarce. So Heindler became creative and promptly rented disused railway carriages as storage space.
Continuous growth
The company's growth has continued to the very day. In September 2017, a further 5,000 m² logistics centre was commissioned in Blaubeuren. At the beginning of 2020, the ground-breaking ceremony was held for a new administration building with showroom on an area of 2,500 m². In 2021 Bohnacker employs 110 people, with office and logistics space extending to over 9,500 m². The mannequins specialist Wissler has been implemented into the company in beginning of 2021.

Expansion of the business units "Display and retail", " ShopDirect mail order business" and "Shop interiors"
The company Wissler Mannequins becomes part of the Bohnacker Group and complements the competences in the field of mannequins and visual merchandising.
WANDA CREATIVE from London, which has won international design awards, is a specialist for international retail design with a focus on travel retail. Since August 2019 WANDA, as part of the Bohnacker Group, has been enriching the competence areas of design, planning and realisation.
